MATT O’RILEY is reportedly a target for Leicester City this summer.

The Premier League side are said to have placed the 21-year-old attacking midfielder on their transfer wishlist ahead of the new campaign.

The Denmark U21 star joined the Scottish champions in January from MK Dons.

Since that £1.5million switch, he has made 19 appearances for the Hoops and was the latest Ange Postecoglou recruit to impressed greatly.

According to The Telegraph, his performances at Celtic have attracted interest from Brendan Rodgers.

The report states that the Foxes want two centre-mids this summer. And they say that O’Riley has emerged as a key target, with his attributes suiting Rodgers’ style of play.

It’s certainly not the first time that Leicester have been linked with Celtic players since Rodgers took over the reins in February 2019.

The likes of Odsonne Edouard, Callum McGregor and Josip Juranovic have all been heavily linked at different times.

O’Riley has four-years remaining on his contract at Parkhead, so a big bid would be required for Celtic to consider selling the playmaker.

He looks set for a key role at Celtic in the season ahead, especially with Tom Rogic no longer on the books in Glasgow’s east end.
