ANGE POSTECOGLOU will make a late call on who will tend goal for Celtic against Motherwell in tonight’s League Cup quarter-final at Fir Park.
Understudy Ben Siegrist was between the sticks in the previous round of this competition in a much-changed side when Celtic travelled north to defeat Ross County, but the Celtic manager says that doesn’t necessarily mean he will start ahead of Joe Hart once again this evening.
“We will see,” Postecoglou said.
“I haven’t really thought about the team yet. I will look at it on Wednesday.
“Benji has been training well, but Joe is playing well, and Scott Bain and young Tobi (Oluwayemi) are also doing well and working hard.
“I will make a decision on who starts on Wednesday.”
Postecoglou also revealed that he doesn’t expect any of the players who missed the weekend win over Hibernian to return for the trip to Lanarkshire, but that an ankle issue won’t rule our Sead Haksabanovic, who came off at half-time on Saturday.
“The squad is pretty much as is from the weekend,” he said.
“Everyone is fine from the Hibs game and the ones who were out, are still out.
“Carl Starfelt is still a couple of weeks away. We will see how Jota goes. He and David Turnbull are the closest but won’t make the Motherwell game.
“I will go off the medical advice. When the physios tell me they are ready, we will include them.
“Sead Haksabanovic is fine. He could have played [on] but we were in control of the game and it made sense to take him off at half-time.”
