Stiliyan Petrov is not taken aback at reports linking Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou to the vacant manager’s role at Tottenham Hotspur.

However, The former Celtic midfielder, 43, is keen for the Australia manager to stay, thanks to the style of play he has brought to Scottish football.

Petrov said: “(Postecoglou) talked about the next game. The next game is the final, to see the treble through, and if he manages to do that I think they’ll sit down and talk through it.

“I’m not surprised. As a player and as a manager when you do well you attract attention from the big leagues and the big clubs. I hope that Celtic can keep him because he has done an incredible job. The team is playing really well. They’re playing in a fashion that the fans, the club and everyone involved in the club are enjoying.

“It will be a big loss. It’s something that they will have to deal with and if he goes, he will be remembered as a great manager.”

Meanwhile, Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon has refused to rule out sensational a return to the club as manager for a third time.

The 51-year-old, who managed the side on two separate occasions from 2010 to 2014 and again from 2019 to 2021, admits that the position is currently filled but that could change in the future.

Speaking to Football Odds, the ex-Hoops boss said: "I've had a great privilege to manage Celtic over six years in two different stints.

At the minute, Ange Postecoglou is still the manager and has been doing a great job. I'll never say never to re-joining Celtic though."

The Northern Ireland manager, won 10 combined Scottish Premierships as a player and manager at Celtic, winning eight Scottish Cups and three League Cups whilst in Glasgow. He also captained the side in his later years with the club, in a trophy-laden career as a player for Celtic.

In between his two managerial stints at Celtic, he managed Hibernian and Bolton Wanderers, winning the Scottish Championship with the former. His last managerial role was at Omonia Nicosia where he won the Cypriot Cup before being dismissed last October.
