One of the many fascinating things about Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is the fact that he is actually a very interesting football personality to listen to.

That's when you sit up and take notice and pay attention and listen intently to what he is saying. Take the transfer window for instance.

Having concluded some sensational early business by recruiting Portuguese sensation Jota, American defender Cameron-Carter Vickers and Daizen Maeda on permanent deals as well as bringing in goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist, Argentine left-back Alexandro Bernabei and Australia midfielder Aaron Mooy, Postecoglou was still being quizzed on whether any more additions would be likely and in what positions?

Only last week Postecoglou had to bat the question away for the umpteenth time.

He left nobody in any doubt as to what Celtic would be looking for in the transfer market should they choose to dip in before the window shuts.

The Aussie said: "We are probably looking at people to round off our squad. I still think if we can find a player or two who can play more than one position in the way we play I think that will help us. It's not in terms of a specific area, it's someone who will fit in with the group as well. We have a strong mentality within this group of players and anyone coming in has to have that as well."

It was a wee golden nugget, a bit of pearly wisdom and knowledge. Postecoglou was road mapping out exactly Celtic's intention.

He is a pretty open and honest kind of guy to a point. It would not be idle conjecture to say that is why his players love playing under him. Footballers always like a clear and concise message from the manager.

This brings us neatly back to the transfer window.

Back in January Postecoglou was pressed by a broadcast journalist about transfers, loans and ins and outs before the end of the window he twice had to utter the line: "I thought I was pretty clear."

For the avoidance of doubt, he always is.

Now Celtic have recently been linked with a cut-price deal for £6 million rated Sead Haksabanovic from Rubin Kazin who is predominantly a left winger but can also play on the right wing, or as a centre-forward as well as being deployed as an attacking midfielder.

That led to a lot of consternation and grumbling amongst the Celtic faithful on social media about the merits of whether or not the club needed another winger.

Ange Postecoglou is in the construction business, not deconstruction. The manager is in the process of building a Celtic team.

Celtic Way:

A Celtic team he hopes will be successful both domestically and in Europe and that makes the supporters proud and gets them up off their seats every week. It's a beautiful house - remember.

Those who have questioned the potential signing of Haksabanovic would do well to understand why Postecoglou signs players in the first place.

He said: "I went to Clairefontaine which is France's academy of football where they produced some of their greatest players. I was really keen to understand what they saw in players and how they identified them. I kept asking questions as I really wanted defined parameters of what they were looking for. An exact science. There was a coach who had been there for the last 25 years and he was getting sick of me asking questions and he wanted me to shut up. He leaned over and he said in French, luckily I had an interpreter and he said: 'Look, I just know'.

"What he was trying to say to me was that he had been doing the job for 25 years and he had seen enough of young talent coming through to know instinctively if they fit. There is a little bit of that in me and in the last 25 years, I have had a clear idea of how I want my football teams and players to play. When I look at a player I probably look at them differently from everyone else. When I look at a footballer and I analyse him I can see him playing in my team and that is always the biggest factor for me. I am looking for the one that will fit. Can he play as a full-back in my team? Can he play as a centre-back in my team?"

If you have any questions at all after hearing or reading those words about Celtic's interest in Haksabanovic then you are simply not listening or paying attention to Ange Postecoglou - are you?

That's a shame really as the Celtic boss is always on the money - transfers or otherwise.
