Is it the end of the green-and-white brick road for Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis? It could be.
The Greek, according to reports in Italy, has agreed on a deal to join Serie A strugglers Sampdoria.
The Italian club sit second bottom of the league, having gained only nine points from 17 matches. The Hoops have yet to sign off on any deal for the player to transfer to Italy but it looks increasingly likely that Giakoumakis is potentially on the way out at Parkhead.
The 28-year-old was a target for J1 League side Urwara Red Diamonds and has nine goals and one assist in 30 appearances for the club this season.
However last season's Premiership joint-top scorer appears to be edging closer to the Parkhead exit door.
Elsewhere Josip Juranovic also remains the subject of transfer speculation in the January transfer window. The Croatia star, who helped his country to finish third at the World Cup finals, is on the radar of several clubs with Erik ten Hag's Manchester United also believed to be in the frame.
Juranovic joined Celtic from Legia Warsaw in August 2021 for around £2.5million and Italian side Monza and Spanish outfit Espanyol have also expressed interest in signing the right-back on loan with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season. Jose Mourinho's Serie A outfit Roma may also look to reignite their interest in the 27-year-old.
Elsewhere, Celtic are 'willing to' listen to offers for defender Stephen Welsh. The 22-year-old defender has come up through the ranks at Parkhead and into the first team in recent years. He scored the first goal of the 2022-23 campaign for the Hoops during a 2-0 Scottish Premiership win over Aberdeen back in July.
The former Scotland under-21 international has fallen down the pecking order in the Hoops' defence under Ange Postecoglou since the arrivals of Moritz Jenz and Yuki Kobayashi.
It now seems Celtic won't stand in Welsh's way should a decent offer come but it is not yet clear whether any switch this month would be a loan deal or a permanent transfer.
Welsh reputedly has interest from England as well as teams in Europe and a few MLS clubs are also thought to have put the centre-back firmly on their radar.
