Ange Postecoglou steered Celtic to their second consecutive League Cup success with a 2-1 final victory over Rangers at Hampden Park.
A brace by Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi - who repeated his feat of last year to become the first Celt since Billy McPhail in 1956 and 1957 to net a double in back-to-back League Cup finals - saw the Hoops lift the trophy despite Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos pulling one back for the Light Blues.
It was Postecoglou's third trophy triumph after scooping the Scottish Premiership and League Cup in his maiden season in Glasgow's east end.
Postecoglou's exploits with Celtic have been hailed and heralded in his homeland as the plaudits and tributes came flowing in.
First in on the act was Postecoglou's former club South Melbourne, who congratulated Celtic after the win with a 'we told you' message.
The Australian side shared a social media post which read simply: "Hey, Celtic FC, we told you our boy was good. Congratulations Ange on winning yet another trophy after his 2-1 cup triumph over Rangers this morning."

Australian media outlet Optus Sport also tweeted to acknowledge Postecoglou's success.
"Ange Postecoglou just wins," that outlet's message said. "Celtic win the Scottish League Cup again. Ange has now won three out of four domestic trophies available to him as Celtic manager. Glasgow is green and white."
Australian soccer enthusiast and Sydney Herald sports writer Vince Rugari posed a simple and effective question of his own on the platform as he asked: "Statue, when?"
Meanwhile the Isuzu UTE A-League account tweeted its congratulations to both Postecoglou and former league star Aaron Mooy. The message read: "Ange Postecoglou. Aaron Mooy. Scottish League Cup champions. How bloody good. The pair of A-League greats collected their crowns with Celtic FC after overcoming fierce rivals Rangers at Hampden Park overnight."
Former Celtic striker and Australia international Scott McDonald also took to social media with a rather tongue-in-cheek offering with a reference to Michael Beale's recent claims that Postecoglou was a lucky manager.
McDonald said only: "Ange getting lucky again."
Fox Sports journalist Zac Rayson penned an article with the headline Trophy treble ‘well within Celtic’s reach’ as Ange eyes ‘dynasty’ after cup triumph.
Rayson reckons Postecoglou and Celtic can go one better than the last campaign by winning the lot this season. He said: "In December 2019, Celtic beat Rangers 1-0 in the final of the League Cup. Overnight, the two bitter Glasgow rivals met in the final for the first time since that clash – and Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic emerged 2-1 victors in another massive win for the Hoops.

"Just one player, captain Callum McGregor, remained in Celtic’s starting XI from that meeting three-and-a-half years ago. It is a sign of how transformative the Australian’s time in Celtic has been.
"Postecoglou’s men lead the league by nine points with 12 matches remaining, a margin that has never been overhauled in the past, while Celtic are into the last eight in the Scottish Cup. A treble is a distinct possibility."
Finally, Fox Sports writer Adam Peacock wrote: "Another one for Ange Postecoglou. The serial winner who can’t kick the habit. South Melbourne, Brisbane, Yokohama and Glasgow with Celtic, who prevailed in Monday morning’s League Cup final 2-1 over bitter rivals Rangers."
Peacock and Optus Sport are both right: Postecoglou is a serial winner who just can't seem to shake the habit. Glasgow is very much green and white.
