Celtic captain Callum McGregor could be spotted telling his colleagues to keep a lid on the post-match celebrations in the aftermath of the win over Rangers.

And the midfielder has insisted that there will be no let-up now from Celtic as they look to turn the screw in the race for the title.

Here's what he had to say to Sky Sports immediately after the game:

Thoughts on the game?

“I thought the football we played in the first-half was first-class. The one thing that has been labelled at us recently is about taking our chances and I thought we were ruthless in the game. The two quick goals finished the game off before half-time so credit to the lads.

Intent right away to do that?

“That is the way the manager demands that we play – fast, attacking football. He has been on at us to take our chances and we knew tonight was a game where if we got a couple of chances we had to be ruthless and put them away and that is exactly what we did.

Going top of the table – what message does that send out?

“I think for us we will just stay calm. We have done a lot of hard work since the start of the season, a lot of new players and guys experiencing this for the first time and it is brilliant for them to experience a home win here and what the atmosphere is like. But we know there is a long, long way to go. There is a lot of football to be played and one thing is for sure that we will not get carried away. We will be back in tomorrow morning to recover and get ready for the weekend.

Always target this game to get back?

“No, I just tried to take it day by day and see how I felt. We got the results of the scan and it wasn’t great but I feel pretty well and that is testimony to the guys in there and my family making sure that I am resting up when I can. When this game comes along you do everything you can to be on the pitch for the supporters and for the club.

Easy to play in the mask?

“It wasn’t too bad. A wee bit of vision….but I was desperate to get on the pitch and of that meant wearing a mask then that is what I had to do. I am just grateful we got three points and I could help the team.

Reo Hatate – what sort of impact has he had?

“He has been first-class. Similar impact to Kyogo, he has come in and scored goals, looked hungry and technically he is very good. Within the system that the gaffer plays he really flourishes in there and it is up to us to keep him going and keep him working, get him even fitter than what he is and match sharper too. But a great return for him tonight.”
