Everything that Kyogo Furuhashi said to the media after he netted a hat-trick during Celtic's 6-4 pre-season win over Queen's Park at The City Stadium
Did you have a nice summer, what did you get up to?
It was a nice break. I went back to Japan and it was good to see some family and friends. It was a good opportunity to visit some familiar places and there was a great reception.
What was the story with you and the Paddington Bear mascot in Japan?
I was part of the kick-off ceremony at FC Gifu – with Paddington Bear! I didn’t know what was happening beforehand. I just came out and they told me what was going on. It was interesting! I’ve faced a few challenges but that was a new one. It was nice to see those places and people again.
You look sharp, what is your secret to hitting the ground running?
We have only just started pre-season but it’s good to get the goals so early. There were other opportunities I missed the other night so there is still work to be done on conditioning. I feel sharp but there’s no secret. I didn’t do anything over the summer.
You look like you are back to doing what you do best. Are you at your happiest when you are scoring goals?
The reason I can score now is because there has been a lot of tough training so far. That is why I have been able to get going quickly – but there is more to come.

Have you set yourself any goalscoring targets for the season ahead?
I’m just focusing on improving my condition right now, I’ve not yet set any goal targets for the season.
Are you looking forward to the USA and getting the main men back in the squad?
The team will get stronger. We have more players coming back next week before we go to America. We’ll just train and work hard together, that way we can show the fans some good games over there. I’m just looking forward to staying in a hotel near the White House! I’ve never been to the United States before so I am looking forward to it.
Did you see the Daizen Maeda lookalike whilst you were in Japan and do you think there will be any Kyogo lookalikes out there in the USA?
We saw the big crowds following Celtic when we were in Japan – but I didn’t get to see the Daizen Maeda lookalike! I don't know if there are any lookalike of myself out there! I’m sure there will be a lot of supporters in America. I’m looking forward to playing in front of them and hopefully putting on some good performances.
It was a tough season last year but Celtic still won the 'double'. Are you determined to be even better this time?
Last season was challenging with injuries. It was unlucky but that happens in football and you have to work hard to come through it. Will we be stronger than last season? We won’t know until the season starts, but that is the aim.
