Everything that Brendan Rodgers said to SKY Sports after Celtic's 3-0 Scottish Premiership win over Rangers

How pleased were you with that today?

Firstly, defensively we were very strong right until the end. In the first ten minutes, we were a fraction passive in our positioning to put pressure on the ball but after that we were okay. In the moments we had to defend, we defended well. I thought offensively we were so exciting going forward. We scored three great goals and had a goal that was disallowed. That one was actually brilliantly worked with our build-up play getting through and it looked so, so tight and that would have been a fantastic goal for us. We had other opportunities in the game. The speed in our game and how we attacked the space was exceptional. We got three and maybe could have had a few more. We want to make it very difficult for the opposition and the crowd played their part as well. Overall, it was a fantastic result and performance.

You mentioned that disallowed goal. How much did that give you a spark and act as a catalyst for you to kick on and get the three you actually did?

Sometimes you need that to inspire you within the game. These games can always be fraught but I thought some of our play was absolutely outstanding. Once we got the first goal, you could see everything develop from there.

Callum McGregor was saying that he didn't want the first half to come to an end given how rampant Celtic were. Was that the most pleasing that you kept going for more?

We aim to make it as difficult as we can for the opposition. We never want to rest. We want to get three, four, five and it could have been in the second half.

You mentioned your captain. How pleased were you with his performance and how much is he the driving force behind this team?

He is such an incredible captain. He was shackled today with Diomande doing the man-marking job on him when he had the ball. He is so clever as he knows when to attract the marker and when to drop him and attack the space. His goal was exceptional and that's three goals in three league games and I don't think he has done that before. He was outstanding.

You mentioned the game plan and that Rangers tried to stop him but does that say a lot about him and the game plan in that you won't be stopped?

Not necessarily. You always have to respect your opponent and I thought Rangers started well in the game. I respect Philippe (Clement) massively and he is having to work through a difficult challenge with not being at the stadium and other issues. I think for us we go into every game with a little bit of humility knowing we have to work. The layers work so hard and we've got to this point having had a good pre-season and we have started the campaign so well with real intensity.

You have got to the international break but how much more is there to come?

There always has to be improvement. I think we can do that. Our pressing has been really good and I have seen that hunger and ability to double up around players and I am really pleased with that. There are other aspects that I will analyse when we look back on the game where we can improve. I think you see the level of our mentality and we are in a really good place. It is so early in the season and there is a lot more to come from us.

You were able to drip-feed some of the new players in as well. How good was it for you to be able to do that and what do you expect from them going forward?

It will be a squad game for us. Arne (Engels) came in, Luke (McCowan ) came in, and Adam (Idah) understands having been at the club. Those guys know the challenges, and to keep the intensity in the game. It was great for Luke as he's a big Celtic supporter and he comes in and makes his first appearance in a Celtic vs Rangers game. That will give him great pride as he knows how we function and operate. He will get better. It will be a collective for us this season and that was always the message.
