Everything that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers said after the 5-2 League Cup quarter-final win over Falkirk at Parkhead

What is your reaction to the League Cup semi-final draw which is Celtic v Aberdeen?

I am happy to be there. That is the most important thing. We have always done okay at Hampden and it will be a great day.

What are your thoughts on the game? You made a few changes but had to bring on some of your resources to get the job done. Overall, how do you assess it?

I am very pleased to be in the semi-final. There is a risk when you make that many changes and we made eight and you could see that the connection wasn't quite there for the first hour of the game. We had some good and not-so-good moments. You have to give immense credit to Falkirk. I have really enjoyed analysing them and watching them in terms of a football idea and the game and what John (McGlynn) is doing then they're probably the best team we have played this season in terms of how they want to work the ball. Falkirk can be really proud of what they've done. It is similar to my guys. You have to play players or else you will not be able to see what they can do. We made the changes and then you saw the fluidity in the pressing and everything became natural as they have been playing together for this early part of the season. We ended up comfortable winners.

When you talk about the lack of connection in the first hour not quite being what you would want. How much do you put that down to Falkirk or the eight changes that you made or is it a bit of both?

I think a lot of it is down to me. Some guys are just finding their feet and the spaces and a lot of it is down to me. You have to give credit to Falkirk as well because they pressed it really well. They were aggressive and they have come with a 4-3-3 and they got a really good first goal. We would normally line up and press and close the space on that one. The second one is where we are a little bit soft on the left-hand side and it comes in and we concede the goal. Full credit to Falkirk but not so good from me as I make the changes.

You brought Nicolas Kuhn off the bench and last season he had dental problems but what about the impact he made today and his contribution all season?

I think what we are seeing with him (Kuhn) is consistency. He came out of a difficult period last season in January and he had issues. He showed it in spells and at training as the season went on. The big thing for Nicolas was pre-season and he had a really good pre-season with us which solidified all the principles that we wanted and he has done really. He also got himself into good condition. He is physically strong and he has started the season so well and his contribution has been huge for us. I am delighted with him.

Did you see Falkirk coming here today and having a go at Celtic? Does it surprise you domestically that more teams don't come and have an aggressive approach at Celtic and don't just come and park the bus? Is it pleasing to see?

It's great to see. If it happens more and it helps us start to play then that's fantastic! I think their attitude to the game was very good. John has brought that and he did at Raith Rovers as well and now he is doing the dame at Falkirk and I am pretty sure he will get his rewards for that. It is never easy. They had nice mobility in the team, they had good technicians and they had pace in good areas. Not every team has that. Falkirk plays a different style.

You have now got a free week which is a rarity this season, isn't it? You can then focus on the game against St Johnstone this weekend and be ready to again, can't you?

It's been a fantastic week as we have been in three competitions and three different levels of games against three different types of opposition which all produced goals and real attacking football and developing the players which are ultimately what we want, We will have a free day on Monday. We will get ready for another busy three-game period come the weekend.
