Everything that Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn said to the media as he previewed Sunday's Scottish Premiership clash against Motherwell at Fir Park

Is the squad in a good place after the performance and the result on Wednesday night?

Yeah, I think so. This is going to be a different game. I think it was a good point for us and a good game. Now we are focused on Motherwell.

What are you expecting from Motherwell?

I think like a lot of games in the league we have to create a lot of chances as we are going to have the ball. We have to take our chances and do a bit better than we did against Aberdeen.

The manager said after the game in Italy that the performance and the result should give the players a real confidence boost for the remainder of the Euro campaign. Is that the way you view it as well?

I think so. A point against Atalanta was really good and we showed that we learned from the game before as we did much better and we were compact as a team and from this, we kept going.

It is such a busy schedule as well. Is that the type of thing the players are looking forward to having games every few days?

Yes, of course. You train less and have fewer days to recover but for us, it can also be good to just play the matches and show what we can and get the points. We have to deliver and do it in a short period of time.

There were questions asked of the team after the Dortmund game and the performance, but did you feel the display against Atalanta put that all to bed and how the players stood up to the test?

I think already in the league after the Dortmund game we showed our qualities, and we showed that we can handle it. That was a much better performance from us defensively in the last game.

You mentioned you prefer games to training, as a winger is that how you get sharp by playing a lot of games?

Of course, it is always nice to play a lot of games but sometimes a couple of days of recovery is also good. It is what it is, and we are just going to focus on each game as it comes.

Is rest and recovery important to the players as you did a lot of running on Wednesday night?

You have to use the short period in between the games and if you are out on the pitch you have to give 100 per cent again.

Away from the training ground, do you make sure you are doing the right things? What do you do personally to recover?

I have to get a lot of sleep. It was quite difficult after the Champions League night but we have had two days rest now and the physios and the staff have helped us through those tough weeks.

Does it take a lot of work to switch the mindset from Wednesday night when you were in a game where you spent a lot of time in your own half and did not have a lot of the ball and then on Sunday it is going to be completely different as you will spend a lot of time in Motherwell’s half attacking?

No, I think that is normal for us as we have a lot of the ball. That is what we normally do. I think for us, it was more difficult to be compact and defend more than we are used to, but we did a great job. Hopefully, we give a little bit more against Motherwell.

Does it give the team great belief that you can be compact and defend your box when you need to but you can also produce the free-flowing football and be expansive when needed also?

Yes, 100 per cent. I think we had to show that we can defend much better than we did against Dortmund. Now we have to stay a little bit more focused and stay calmer with the ball when we have it. It was possible to create more chances and gain more than just a point.

How pleased are you with your start to the season?

I am happy with the start. I am happy that I am feeling good and fit. Pre-season was the most important thing for me and I’m feeling good.

Did the result and the performance against Aberdeen tell you anything that you didn’t know in terms of how competitive the league will be this season?

No. As we talked about, we have a lot of games and it is a long season but it has just started. We have a couple of games against them soon, so we are going to do better.
