Everything Daizen Maeda said to the media after Celtic 6-0 Aberdeen at Hampden in the Premier Sports Cup...

How do you reflect on that performance?

It was a great stadium and a great atmosphere with great fans. In the end, it was great that we could get a good result.

Individually a hat-trick for you. That must be quite the feeling to do that in an environment like this.

Thank you to my teammates for that. I really appreciated our work as a team. I’m pretty thankful.

Does this send a message to the rest of the league that Celtic are here to do business now?

We as a team, we try to win all of the domestic titles, so now we are one step closer to the final and getting our first title. It’s a good moment for us.

You must be full of confidence going into the Champions League vs RB Leipzig now?

We lost against Leipzig last time, and they are a good team so it doesn’t change anything. We’re playing at home, so we have to get the support from the supporters and hopefully, we can get the result.

After missing out on this trophy last season, how much was that on your mind going into this game?

I’m happy with the result today, but the final is still ahead of us. We have to focus on now.

When you last played Aberdeen, you allowed them to come back to draw 2-2. How much was that on the players’ minds today - was it a case of you wanting to show who was boss?

Yes, and they’re a good side, to be honest. We wanted to show we were the better team. We worked hard today and showed it, so it was a very good performance for us.

Was that your best team performance of the season so far?

I still don’t know yet, but I think we had a great performance.

Nine goals already this season with your hat trick. How much are you enjoying playing under the manager and getting more goals to your game this season?

I think one of the objectives for me was to get more goals and assists. I’m contributing to the team, but I have to keep doing this, otherwise it will be meaningless. I have to keep working hard and continue to do this.

I saw that your children were at the game. Are you happy to take the match ball home to them? A new football to play with?

Yes, definitely. We will play football together!
