ANTHONY RALSTON believes that there is more to come from come from Celtic, and says that the players are trusting the Ange Postecoglou process to take them to success.
Ralston scored a late goal to give Celtic a lifeline against Real Betis, but they ultimately came up short having conceded four goals in a crazy 25 minute spell either side of half-time.
But the right-back is taking the positives from an impressive overall performance in Seville, and says that he and his teammates are fully trusting their manager’s methods.
“I feel there’s a lot more to come from this group of players, we’ve got a quality team,” Ralston said.
“And on top of that we have the desire to go places and a strong belief in how the gaffer wants us to play.
“I feel we are implementing that, even at this level as well. So it’s important we continue to do that and believe in each other and focus on each game as it comes and try and keep climbing and doing what we can.
“It’s disappointing to lose the game as clearly our intention was to come here and try to win the game.
“We had a good start in the game and managed to get ourselves into a two goal lead and we were looking strong but we lost that.
“The important thing was that we kept going and we dug in especially when Betis took the lead.
“We also managed to keep going to the very end so there are a lot of positives to take away from the game.
“We need to take that into the next European games we have ahead of us as well as into the league as well.
Ralston says that the result could have been different had Celtic taken just one or two of the numerous other opportunities they created, despite scoring three on the night.
“We had our chances in the game as well which we missed,” he said. “But again we need to look at the fact we are creating chances as another positive to take from the game. On another day if we managed to take them then it’s a different result.
“We are where we are and it’s still disappointing to lose the game but we need to take all of those positives into the future.
“Betis are a top quality side and we already knew that. We didn’t fear that and we believed we could come here and win. We wanted to play our football in the style we wanted to play and it’s unfortunate that we lost the game.
“Even though they are a quality side we are now ready to all of those positives into our future games.”
