Joe Hart: It was a second match with the captain's armband for the goalkeeper as his growing influence on this team becomes clearer. The former England international is getting more comfortable with the technical expectations of playing in goal for Celtic and added to his growing list of saves with a reaction stop from a header just before half-time that would have put Livingston 2-0 up. He added another after the break by denying Alan Forrest in the 81st minute and emerged as one of the few bright spots in an otherwise insipid team display. 7
Josip Juranovic: The Croatia international was back on the right-hand side this time out at the expense of Anthony Ralston and generally went about his business in a composed manner. A scorer against Betis in midweek, the 26-year-old had a couple of attempts on goal here as well and looks far from shy when it comes to the attacking side of the game. The goal came down his side and as the match wore on his effect on proceedings lessened considerably. 5
Cameron Carter-Vickers: A quiet start to the game exploded into life when the centre-back played a cracking defence-splitting pass to send Abada galloping in the 13th minute. The Israeli's cross was poor, but that should not dilute the vision and execution of Carter-Vickers' contribution to the move. The American international did not have much to deal with thereafter, but once again played a threaded pass to unleash Abada in the second half; this time the winger put in a decent cross but the chance was missed. Perhaps in a telling move, when the game reached desperation stations Carter-Vickers felt obliged to take matters into his own hands and went close with a rifled long-ranger. 6
Stephen Welsh: Another match at left centre-back for the youth product, who may have felt hard-done-by to have been out of the starting line-up in the past two games. The 21-year-old can only be disappointed by the manner in which he was beaten to the ball by Andrew Shinnie for the Livi opener but he did recover from it to go close to a second goal of the season with a header shortly after half-time. 5
Boli Bolingoli: The Belgian came in for his first competitive Celtic game since his infamous three-minute appearance against Kilmarnock last August. He generally acquitted himself well enough and linked up with Jota to good effect down the left at times. He seemed to struggle somewhat with the inverted full-back responsibilities at first while his tiring legs committed a couple of late fouls. 5

James McCarthy: It was a big afternoon for the summer signing as he made his maiden start in the hoops. He was technically a replacement for Ismaila Soro but, in that deep-lying midfield area, the shadow of Callum McGregor looms large. McCarthy does not bring quite the same mix of composure and quality as the captain but he did do his fair share of talking to his team-mates and tried to dictate the play in his own streetwise style in the first half. He looked tired not long after the break and his influence on the game was already on the wane at the time of his substitution. 5
David Turnbull: Statistically speaking, the Scotland international's pressing is improving - and his set-piece deliveries were dangerous as ever here - but there once again seemed a lack of cutting edge to Turnbull's game in West Lothian. The midfielder saw two 20-yarders turned away but otherwise did not create much from open play. 5
Liel Abada: On his return to the team following Yom Kippur, Abada looked his usual dangerous and direct self in the first half. His end product ultimately let him down, however, and in the end he was just one of many who failed to make an impact when the chips were down. 5
Tom Rogic: Much of what was good about Celtic's early play stemmed from the Australian, whose jinking and passing caused Livi problems in the central areas without properly penetrating their backline. Some of that was down to the hosts crowding him out but there was also an element of dilly-dallying to Rogic's play and that was frustratingly on display here. That theme continued into the second half before his removal on 72 minutes. 5
Jota: The winger's trickery was evident right from the start when he first dazzled the Livingston defence to help the team win a corner then put in a dangerous cross from the left within the opening 10 minutes. Drifted in and out of the game from then on, with a couple of runs and crosses offset by moments where he was simply outmuscled. 5
Albian Ajeti: The Swiss striker did not offer too much in the opening stages, save for being the victim of two bookable fouls which gave the Hoops free-kicks in dangerous areas. He did have a couple of chances thereafter, heading wide just before the half-hour and again in the 71st minute, and did well to set up Turnbull for a squandered chance with a cute lay-off. Late on, Ajeti forced a good save from Max Stryjek after being played in by Soro and generally tried to get into scoring positions despite the distinct lack of service. 6
Substitutes
Nir Bitton (for Welsh, 72 mins): Giving away a couple of fouls was his only contribution of note. 4
Ismaila Soro (for McCarthy, 72 mins): Almost made an immediate impact by firing a ball into Ajeti, who rolled the defender well and was denied by Livi keeper Stryjek's save. The Ivorian injected some much-needed energy into Celtic's play for the 20 minutes he was on the field. 5
Mikey Johnston (for Rogic, 72 mins): Made himself available for the ball but was largely ineffective with it. 4
Subs not used: Scott Bain, Liam Scales, Adam Montgomery, Anthony Ralston.
