Joe Hart: The Celtic goalkeeper was bailed out by the intervention of Juranovic in the opening exchanges before plucking a Barrie McKay cross out the air with ease in the second half. He really instils confidence in his backline and, although he was beaten by Liam Boyce's drive just after the hour mark, it was a good display from the Englishman. 8

Josip Juranovic: Juranovic mopped up some early danger after Hart seemed uncertain. He is another player who is growing into his role at Celtic, although he seemed to sell himself too often in the tackle at times in a performance below his best. 6

Cameron Carter-Vickers: The USA international was coping superbly well until Boyce, who looked well offside, struck two minutes after the hour mark. The defender still produced a disciplined, controlled and measured display at the back of the pack and never appears to be ruffled at all. 8

Carl Starfelt: Starfelt dovetailed well with his defensive partner and restricted Hearts goalscoring opportunities to a minimum until Boyce halved the lead. He relished the combat with Boyce and lost a couple of aerial challenges along the way. He slid in to prevent an equaliser at one point and just about edged his individual battle. 7

Greg Taylor: The Scotland full-back started off shakily with a slack ball towards Carter-Vickers and he looked tentative at times and picked up a first-half booking. He stuck manfully to the task but has and will produce better by his standards. 6

Nir Bitton: He was doing a decent job in the heart of the engine room for Celtic as well as the dirty work with great aplomb. The Israeli picked up a yellow card and then handled the ball in the box when he panicked in the box but he was saved by the woodwork after Boyce fluffed his lines from 12 yards. 6

Matt O'Riley: The £1.5million new signing from MK Dons was pitched straight in for his debut in Gorgie. He was presented with an early chance but his effort was blocked by Rangers-bound John Souttar. However, in 35 minutes, he set up Giakoumakis for a superbly-executed goal with a beautiful cross that was begging to be guided home. He looked composed at all times and will improve once he gets to know his new team-mates better. 8

Reo Hatate: The Japanese midfielder picked up from where he left off against Hibs and opened his account for his new club in spectacular fashion, showing unbelievable technique to belt a 30-yard piledriver past Craig Gordon with deadly accuracy. Hatate certainly looks like the real deal - Celtic have got themselves a player. 8

James Forrest: The winger was restored to the starting line-up and hit a couple of powderpuff efforts at goal in the first half. He drifted in and out of the match and looked a bit ring-rusty and lacking in match sharpness. 6

Jota: The Portuguese winger was making his first start in two months and almost finished off a superb move but was denied the opener by a diving save from Gordon. However, he looked sharp as he darted and danced down the left wing before copping a caution from referee John Beaton. Jota cannoned an effort off Gordon after the break before being substituted for Abada on 61 minutes. 7

Giorgos Giakoumakis: The Greek striker was handed a golden opportunity to shine but comically got his angle wrong when he shanked an attempt at goal at the midway point in the first period. He soon redeemed himself, though, and showed predatory striking instincts when he eluded his marker and produced a superb unorthodox flick to turn O'Riley's low drilled centre into the net to make it 2-0. He faded after the break. 7
