NEIL LENNON is keen on the Sunderland job.
The former Celtic manager has admitted he would be eager to take over at the League One side.
However, the Northern Irishman has also revealed that the possibility of a foreign manager's gig is also "in the offing".
Sunderland decided suddenly to sack Lee Johnson last weekend after a 6-0 thumping at the hands of Bolton.
Local reports claimed the ex-Parkhead boss - out of work since leaving February last year - was in the frame, alongside former Hull coach Grant McCann and Paul Cook
And Lenny addressed that speculation this afternoon.
He told TalkSPORT: "It's very appealing I think. It has a fantastic fanbase and in a reasonably good position in the league, that would be a job anyone would be interested in.
"But it is so competitive now, the manager's race to get back in or keep your job.
"There are so many good coaches around. England is the place everyone wants to be. The Premier League is the marquee league.
"It is a tremendous product now, so great to watch. But the pandemic affected a lot of clubs and a bit of normality has come back into it."
