Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has spoken once again to back what will be a “special” homecoming for the Aussie boss in November.

Both Celtic and Rangers fans have expressed displeasure at the plan to play each other in a 'friendly' match on the other side of the planet before the Qatar World Cup.

The Sydney Super Cup will see the Hoops face an A-League team and Rangers but reports Down Under today suggest the tour may be in trouble.

That may see the Ibrox club, who have in particular been besieged by unhappy fans over the clash, pull out.

Celtic on the other hand, seem keen to press on with plans as Postecoglou waxed lyrical about the trip on the Hoops’ TV channel.

He told Celtic TV: "I haven't been home for a couple of years.

"By the time we get around to that it will have been almost three years, so I'm super excited.

"It will be great. The club's been down there a couple of times before, I know just how passionate people are about the club there, so I'm looking forward to it.

"I'll have a great sense of pride going back there as manager of Celtic.

"It'll be special. The club have always had a strong connection with Australia and I've been exposed to it.

"I know how passionate the supporters' groups are down there, whether that's through Scott McDonald, Tom Rogic or Jackson Irvine, the Australians who have passed through the club.

"To now be manager of the club, I think the Australian public in general will take great pride that one of theirs is in charge of such a famous club."
