CELTIC starlet Karamoko Dembele is set to be called up to the Ivory Coast national team.

Reports last week claimed the attacker was identified as a possible star for the African national team amid representation wrangling between Scotland and England.

The 19-year-old has appeared at youth level for Scotland and England - having been born in South London but growing up in Glasgow - but could now change his allegiance to the Ivory Coast.

He is eligible to play for the country through his parents who were both born there.

Now, Football Scotland claims Dembele met with Patrice Beaumelle, the Cote d'Ivoire boss, in London this week over a call-up.

They report that Dembele - and brother Siriki who plays for Bournemouth - met with the national team manager and FA representatives.

It's claimed Dembele could be in line for a full international cap in the Ivory Coast's next set of fixtures.

The news comes as Dembele's club future remains in doubt with his current deal at Celtic expiring in the summer.

Quizzed on the contract situation, Ange Postecoglou said previously: "With all those things it is kind of a two-way thing and that will depend on Karamoko himself and where he sees his future and we will sit down at the appropriate time with him and sort of try and map out what's best for him and what he thinks is best for him and we'll come to a decision."
