CHARLIE NICHOLAS insists he can't separate Rangers and Celtic ahead of this weekend's "gigantic" derby clash.

The Glasgow rivals square off in a crucial top-of-the-table clash on Sunday at Ibrox with a three point - and a 14-goal difference - advantage for Celtic ahead of the match.

But victory for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side would make it level on points as the split approaches with another powderkeg fixture between the clubs to come.

For Nicholas, it's a must-not-lose for Rangers with the pundit claiming the title race would be over if Celtic claim victory.

And with that in mind, he's plumped for a 2-2 draw to set up a tense finish to the top-flight campaign.

In his Daily Express column, he wrote: "I can't really separate these teams.

"But, if Rangers have Morelos, I can see it being a score draw - maybe 2-2.

"It would keep both teams ticking over. But, if Celtic win, the trophy will be heading back across the city."

He added: "Most of the pressure is on the defending champions.

"It is not just about the three-point gap because, even if Rangers were to win, Celtic would still be top on goal difference.

"It is the manner in which they were embarrassed at Celtic Park last month that will have stuck in the throats of Gers players and fans alike."

Nicholas also offered his thoughts on the crucial team selection dilemmas facing Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ange Postecoglou. And he threw up some surprise calls.

Nicholas reckons Aaron Ramsey could be thrown in for the crucial fixture despite reports of a niggling injury on Wales duty - and he backed Morelos to play after he left the Colombia camp with a thigh issue.

He wrote: "I have a feeling Aaron Ramsey could come into the mix on Sunday. He's done well in his last two games for Rangers and Wales.

"Does he start in this game? I've seen enough of him in an Arsenal jersey to know he can cause problems on the big occasion.

"The big concern for Rangers is over whether Morelos - who wasn't with Colombia for their final World Cup qualifier in Venezuela - makes it after suffering a thigh injury while away. From what I've read, it looks like he'll be fit and ready for Ibrox."

On the other side, Nicholas reckons Postecoglou should start Giorgos Giakoumaksi up-front even if Kyogo Furuhashi is available.

He explained: "Giakoumakis isn't going to worry the Rangers defence with his pace but it could turn into a scrap, which would suit him. I expect Ange Postecoglou (above) to go with the Greek through the middle.

"Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada have pace on the flanks and they will trouble the Rangers defence."
