DAIZEN MAEDA insists he wants to continue challenging himself after the Japanese forward’s loan deal with the Parkhead club was made permanent.
The 24-year-old arrived in the January transfer window from Yokohama F. Marinos in his homeland and made a quick impression in the starting XI.
Maeda’s relentless pressing quickly endeared him to the Celtic support and the winger provided eight goals and five assists in 22 appearances for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Yokohama F. Marinos confirmed on Monday morning that the permanent transfer has now gone through and Maeda hopes to build on the Premiership triumph he and his team-mates achieved this season.
And the forward thanked fans in Japan for supporting his move to Europe.
“Even after coming to Scotland, everyone's support has been heartening, and I was able to send good news by winning the league," he said.
“I said everything I had to say when my loan began, but I want to keep being reckless and continue to challenge myself.
“Yokohama F. Marinos will always be one of the clubs I love. #MarinosFamilyIsTheGreatest!”
