Celtic's superb opening-day record has been laid bare ahead of this weekend's Premiership curtain-raiser.
Since the start of this century, no other Scottish club has tasted victory in the league's opening game than the Hoops.
Celtic have won 18 of their 22 opening-day matches and boast a win percentage of 82 per cent - a full 10 per cent higher than Rangers’ success rate.
Indeed, the Hoops have only lost once on the opening day in that time (against Hearts last season) according to research by MyBettingSites.
No other team has won even half of their curtain-raising fixtures, with St Johnstone the worst of the lot with three wins in 15 matches for a 20 per cent hit rate.
Ange Postecoglou's men host Aberdeen on Sunday in their first match of the 2022-23 Premiership season (4.30pm).
