Former Celtic defender Jack Hendry is facing the prospect of having to leave Club Brugge.
The Scotland international only signed for the Belgian champions last summer and appeared to have a good season on paper after playing in the Champions League and being involved as the team retained their title.
However, things do not seem all rosy as the 27-year-old was left out of the most recent matchday squad despite the club selling star centre-back Stanley Nsoki to Hoffenheim for £10 million.
The Brugge manager Carl Hoefkens decided to play American midfielder Owen Otasowie in central defence and even included 19-year-old Abakar Sylla instead of Hendry.
When asked about his decision to leave out the ex-Hoops man after the match, Hoefkens did not pull any punches.
"At the beginning of the season, even before the pre-season, I said that everyone would get a chance to prove themselves.
"I've done that. From now on, the situation should be clear to everyone."
The Scotland international still has three years left on his deal at the Jay Breydel Stadium, but it appears his time up there.
He originally made the move to Ostende from the Hoops on loan before a permanent deal was agreed.
Ostende quickly cashed in on the 27-year-old by selling him to Brugge for £5 million in the same window.
Several clubs appear to be interested in former Dundee man, including Vincent Kompany's Burnley.
