Former Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic could call a time on his footballing career amid his ongoing search for his next club, according to reports.
The 29-year-old ended almost a 10-year stay with the Parkhead club last season which ended with a title triumph under Ange Postecoglou.
He has been linked with a moves to ambitious Indonesian side Persija Jakarta and was reportedly in the mix for a Celtic reunion with Neil Lennon at Omonia Nicosia in recent weeks. However, talk of his next move seems to have fizzled out.
Australian journalist Dave Lewis wrote for Bein Sports: "While back in the UK after a brief trip to Australia, there are no indications of where next for Rogic, 29, with his British agent Josh Barnett declining to comment on the path ahead.
"There have even been suggestions the mercurial Rogic might simply slip quietly into retirement after his nine-year stay with the Hoops."
Graham Arnold is putting together a squad for Australia’s World Cup campaign and Qatar – but it’s yet to be seen if Rogic will be involved after missing a national team call-up this summer.
The Socceroos boss admitted he was "concerned" about the well-being of Rogic this summer after the 29-year-old failed to reply to him after pulling out of the national team squad. However, Hoops boss Postecoglou calmed the concerns, asserting that the quiet midfielder was fine.
Rogic broke his silence last month as he took to Instagram to celebrate his fellow countryman Aaron Mooy’s move to Celtic.
