Ex-Celtic winger Marian Shved has reportedly downed tools at Belgium side Mechelen as he attempts to negotiate a move back to his homeland.
The Ukrainian, who only made three competitive appearances for the Hoops, has 'refused to play' according to boss Danny Buijs.
Despite the war in Ukraine raging, the 25-year-old is desperate to return home as he looks for a transfer to Shakhtar Donetsk.
His current manager said, as reported by Voetbalkrant: "Marian didn't want to play because he wants a transfer.
"But the transfer has not yet gone through, and when you see that your team is having a hard time with a number of injuries, then I think that as a player, you have an obligation to play.
"He didn't want to do that, so I don't need him. He can stay at home.
"And what happened? I replaced him with 18-year-old Milan Robberechts, Unlike Marian, he wanted to play and he scored twice to help us win the game.
"Sometimes, these things are just meant to be."
