Celtic have reportedly made a new approach for St Mirren starlet Dylan Reid.
Reid turned down the Hoops’ last contract offer despite a bid of £125,000 being accepted, admitting his focus was to break through into Stephen Robinson’s first-team.
He has failed to start a single game this season, with his only two appearances coming from the bench in the League Cup.
Football Scotland now reports that Ange Postecoglou’s side has launched a new bid to bring the 17-year-old to Parkhead and it’s understood they’re optimistic about striking a deal with the Scotland under-17 international.
However, it is claimed that Celtic will face stiff competition from England with several unnamed teams believed to be keen on the highly-regarded midfielder.
Reid’s contract is set to expire in 2023, but Postecoglou’s side are believed to be doing everything possible to lure him to Glasgow’s east end.
