Celtic captain Callum McGregor has returned to light training during preparations for the first match of the Sydney Super Cup.
The 29-year-old has been out of action since sustaining a knee injury during the 3-1 defeat away to RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
Out since October, the Scotland international has missed a host of games during Ange Postecoglou's men's run into the break for the World Cup.
Speaking to Sky Sports at the time of the injury, the 57-year-old said: "The initial report suggests he'll probably be out until after the [World Cup] break at this stage.
"We've got the final report to come, but it looks like he'll miss the next three or four weeks, which will put him out until after the break.
"The players are well aware of it, we went through a period last year where he was missing, and nothing really changes for us.
"It's about sticking to our team principles, he's a massive loss on and off the field, but just like any other club - we just have to deal with it."
However, the prognosis now seems to be more positive with the academy graduate taking part in the first session in Australia.
He told Celtic TV: "Hopefully I will be joining bits of the sessions this week and just progressing the rehab. It will be an important five, six days for me as well. I am looking forward to getting back on the grass with the boys."
On the games the Hoops face, McGregor insists Postecoglou's side won't drop their levels.
He added: "More of the same, we understand the way we want to play.
"I'm sure the gaffer will be keen for us to put on a good show coming back to his home country.
"He will be putting pressure on the lads to make sure they are performing well.
"Good football, good intensity and want to have two victories as well.
"These guys get up in the middle of the night to watch the games and this is an opportunity to see us live and it's important we don't disappoint.
"We show them the best of ourselves and put on a good show for them."
The Hoops take on Sydney FC on Thursday, November 17 before taking on Frank Lampard's Everton on Sunday, November 20.
