Everything Ange Postecoglou had to say ahead of Celtic's first game in the Sydney Super Cup...

How does it feel to be back in your homeland?

It is good. It reminded me how far away Australia is. I haven't been home in a while, but it is good to be here, and I think the lads are settling in now. Once they get over the jet lag, I am sure they will enjoy it. We are looking forward to the games.

Is it nice for the group to see different parts of the world?

We are still in camp and working. It is not like it is a break but I just think being away from the competitive environment of Glasgow and the Scottish Premiership is good for the lads. They can spend some time together and work hard in training. It will give them a good mental break from a pretty tough schedule.

How important is this week?

It is an important week. It is another week when I have some time to do some work. The boys will have some time off. They will have a week or so off, which will be good for them. It is important we just continue on. Our form has been really good, particularly in the league, and in these two games, against Sydney FC and Everton, we want to put on good performances. We want to do that firstly for ourselves, so we keep progressing and secondly for the people who come to see us live. We want to give a good account of ourselves.

How important is it that the team put on good performances for the fans?

Their experience as Celtic fans is to get up at two or three in the morning, so I'm sure not just Celtic fans but sports fans in general who have been following us since I became manager will have a great experience when they come to the games. Our job is to play good football and give them something to be excited about.

How special is it to bring this club to Australia?

It is pretty special. Growing up here, I always looked forward to teams from overseas coming. If I was not managing tomorrow night, I would be here watching the game, so it is a great pride for me to bring one of the biggest football clubs in the world back to my homeland. I am really looking forward to tomorrow night. I think the game will be good and the feeling of knowing all the people who follow us from afar can see us live will be great.

What can we expect from Sydney FC?

They are a good side who have had an inconsistent start to the season. Traditionally they are one of the stronger sides, and Steve Corica is a good young manager. They have a couple of players who I have managed before. It is a great stadium, and we are looking forward to it.
