Celtic winger Jota made a supporter's day by gifting them his jersey after the defeat on penalties to Everton in the Sydney Super Cup.

The match originally ended a draw before being decided on spot-kicks, and the Hoops ended up losing 4-2.

Despite the result, it was an improved performance from the previous fixture.

The Portuguese winger was one of the standouts in the match, and at full-time, as the players thanked the fans, the 23-year-old decided to give his trip to one lucky supporter.

Meanwhile, Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou maintained that despite the result, his team played much better against the Merseyside club than they did when took on Sydney FC in the last game.

He said: "I wouldn't say it was disappointing. I was disappointed there weren't any goals for the fans, but the performance was decent and I thought we dominated the game.

"We were just missing a goal and we missed some great chances, and their keeper pulled off some good saves.

"I think that was much more like us in terms of our general play and laying out football. I was just disappointed there weren't any goals for the supporters, but in terms of our performance, I was happy."

The Australian was also returning to the scene of the national team's greatest triumph, the Accor Stadium, where he led his country to the 2015 Asian Cup.

However, he was keen to get across that he had no time for nostalgia.

"I am not really the sentimental type," he continued.

"We got the job done here with Australia and it was a great night.

"You kind of move on from those things and always look ahead.

"It has been great to be back home and just brilliant to see the support we have had.

"Not me personally, but the football club and walking the streets of Sydney and just seeing Celtic shirts everywhere is just brilliant to see."
