New Celtic signing Yuki Kobayashi has revealed the reason he decided to sign for the Hoops.
The centre-back was unveiled as a Parkhead player officially after signing a five-year-deal with the Scottish champions.
Previously playing for Vissel Kobe, he becomes the fifth Japanese player to sign under manager Ange Postecoglou.
And the 22-year-old explained that the manager, along with a variety of other factors, were part of his reasoning for becoming a Hoops player.
He said: "I have been texting with the players and asking about the atmosphere of the team, as well as Glasgow as a city.
"I would say with the manager, since I have known him in Japan, he was very successful and won the J1 League.
"He made Yokohama F Marinos into a great team. I am really excited to work with him to learn a lot of things.
"Celtic is one of the biggest and most important clubs. I also have the opportunity to play in European competition.
"I am looking forward to play with the team. In terms of the defence I can contribute to a high line.
"In terms of attacking play, I think I am good at providing forward passes, this is where I can contribute to the team."
Meanwhile, former Celtic starlet Liam Burt has signed for a new club, moving to League of Ireland side Shamrock Rovers.
He controversially signed for the Parkhead team in 2019 from rivals Rangers, becoming only the sixth player in over 80 years to make the switch between the two clubs.
The midfielder never made a first team appearance for either of the Glasgow divide, representing the Hoops B team for the majority of his time at the club.
Rovers head coach Stephen Bradley said: “Liam has really good attributes that can definitely improve us.
"He’s very quick and direct and he’s a different type of attacking player than what we have in the group at the moment.
"I’ve had a number of conversations with Liam, and we know he’s had interest, both here and away.
"I’m just delighted that he sees the next step in his career with us and I’m looking forward to working with him."
