Josip Juranovic feels his side "deserved" to beat Brazil to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.
Croatia defeated one of the tournament favourites on penalties and the Celtic right-back was one of the stars of the night.
It is the second consecutive World Cup that the Croats have reached the final four and they will now take on Lionel Messi's Argentina for a place in the final.
Speaking to Croatian outlet NL after the match, he said "The whole team played a very good game against a quality opponent.
"We are deservedly in the semi-finals. Let's go celebrate a little now, and then we have work ahead of us."
The 27-year-old was solid throughout the game despite being up against one of the best wingers in the world in Vincius JR.
He held his own throughout the game and credited his teammates with making life easy for him.
"Vinicius is dangerous, but the boys helped me," he said.
"We played in the Champions League, so I know how he plays and I prepared well, but as a whole team we played well, we showed discipline and we won"
"I thought we conceded a poor goal, but and played great.
"After the goal they retreated, we saw a chance there and thanks to Petkovi for scoring."
