Celtic transfer target Mohamed Magdy is mulling over up to six different offers as he weighs up his next port of call, it is understood.

Reports emerged on Monday suggesting the Egyptian midfielder, also known as Afsha, was locked in talks to seal a loan move to Saudi Arabian side Al Batin after he requested a transfer at the weekend.

A source close to the player revealed that, while the Al Batin talks are genuine, the Al Ahly midfielder has up to six different offers to consider.

These include teams from the Netherlands and Sweden, with Celtic not yet ruled out of the race and the draw of playing in a Glasgow Derby holding particular appeal.

Afsha's transfer wish looks set to be granted in any case, with Al Ahly manager Marcel Koller appearing to accept he will be unable to hold on to their prized asset.

Ambitious Al Batin, who were only promoted to the Saudi Professional League two years ago after winning the second-tier title, have reportedly bid £750,000 for a six-month loan - but it is not yet a done deal.

Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Besiktas as well as Saudi side Al-Ittihad have all been linked with Afsha in recent weeks while last week we exclusively revealed that Sivasspor had rejoined the list of potential suitors after a deal fell apart in the summer.

An Al Ahly statement read: "Following a meeting between the president and the football sector planning committee, it was agreed Afsha will not be sold for less than five million dollars.

"We believe it is a very appropriate amount for the player’s capabilities and also for the price of the transfer market at the present time and his agent was informed of Al Ahly’s conditions. This was done with the blessing of the technical staff and manager Marcel Koller."

Sources close to the player insist that they want to get the best deal possible for Afsha and Celtic remain one of many viable options for him.
