Celtic hero Frank McAvennie has praised Josip Juranovic, claiming the right-back can go and play "anywhere."
The former Scotland international rates the 27-year-old highly and feels that if the player is to leave Parkhead it will be to join a top club.
The Croatian, who is currently preparing for a World Cup semi-final against Argentina, has been linked with several teams since the summer transfer window, including Atletico Madrid and Chelsea.
McAvennie feels that the signing of Alistair Johnston points to Juranovic potentially being on his way out of Glasgow.
Speaking to Football Insider, he said: "Anywhere he goes he will be a first team player because he is that good.
"There is obviously something in the wind because they have just bought Johnston.
"He got caught a few times for Canada but that is to be expected.
"When you play for Canada you are under the cosh all of the time, he will not be at Celtic.
"So he will have time to become a good player.
"I think Juranovic can defend a bit better than him.
"As a defender, Juranovic is the best."
Meanwhile, ex-Hoops striker Chris Sutton reckons Juranovic warrants the transfer attention - but Celtic also deserve to receive a bumper fee if they're to sell in January.
“Juranovic’s performance against Brazil was seen across the world. Why shouldn’t Celtic be able to ask for big money?" said Sutton in an interview with the Daily Record.
“I believe they should try to keep him until next summer as he’s such an important player and Celtic have a title to be secure. But, if circumstances dictate that he is to go next month, it should be for a premium rate.
“Of course, the two biggest aspects are maybe the fact he is playing in Scotland and the fact he is 27 years of age.
“I’m not comparing them as players, but Kieran Tierney, a full-back, left Celtic to join Arsenal for £25m. Yes, Kieran was younger, but Juranovic is now going to have a World Cup semi-final on his CV. He and Croatia might even win the tournament."
