After more than three months without a competitive appearance, Celtic captain Callum McGregor announced his return with a match-winning pearler against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
The Hoops had peppered the Pittodrie home goal with shots all afternoon without being able to beat Kelle Roos.
Ange Postecoglou was without the services of player of the month Sead Haksabanovic for the match due to a training-ground injury but the substitutes he did have at his disposal made an impact.
Winger Liel Abada - on for Japan international Daizen Maeda at half-time - caused havoc down the right flank and set up Kyogo Furuhashi for a wonderful chance that the striker spurned.
Another sub, club veteran James Forrest, grabbed an assist by sliding the ball to captain McGregor for the winning goal just four minutes from time.
The 29-year-old had been out injured since being forced off during the UEFA Champions League tie against RB Leipzig back in early October but showed no signs of any rustiness with an imperious performance.
He topped it all off with a left-footed howitzer past Roos and into the bottom corner to send the travelling Celtic fans into bedlam and home happy from their first competitive Hoops match in over four weeks.
