Celtic FC has made strides to continue growing its presence in Japan by announcing a new partnership.

The club's Celtic Soccer Academy will link up with Goal App Japan to put on coaching camps in the country.

Goal App facilitates language learning through its app using football coaching and famous players. It is also involved in 'soccer schools' management and other sporting events. It currently has a tie-up with Paris Saint-Germain with a Manchester City one coming soon.

Alongside the Celtic Soccer Academy, its aim is to deliver three coaching camps in Tokyo, Fukuoka and Hiroshima in spring 2023 with more set to be held in the summer. The camps are open to boys and girls between the ages of seven and 12.

All camps will be run by Celtic Soccer Academy staff and each child will get kit for the duration of their attendance, a gift and a certificate.

Chris Smith, head of Celtic Soccer Academy, said: “We are really excited to partner with Goal App Japan and provide an opportunity for young Japanese football players to experience what it is like to play the Celtic Way.

“We currently have five Japanese players playing for Celtic and we would like to use this partnership to inspire the next generation of players to support and potentially play at our fantastic football club.”

Masaru Fuchinoue, CEO of Goal App Japan, said:  “We look forward to young players in Japan experiencing the same coaching as Japanese players like [Kyogo] Furuhashi, [Daizen] Maeda, [Yosuke] Ideguchi and [Reo] Hatate at Celtic and hope that they have the opportunity to become stars for Celtic FC in the future.”
