Callum McGregor praised Celtic's "character" after the Scottish champions fought back from 2-1 down to grab a draw against Rangers at Ibrox.

The Hoops took the lead early on, thanks to a wonderful run and finish from Daizen Maeda.

However, after going into the fixture 1-0 up at half-time, the tide turned at the start of the second 45 minutes.

Firstly Ryan Kent equalised and this was followed up by Carl Starfelt making a rash challenge on Fashion Sakala to concede a penalty.

This was dispatched by James Tavernier and the Hoops found themselves behind for the first time in the match.

A late Kyogo Furuhashi equaliser, however, meant the fixture ended in a draw.

It is a result which keeps the Hoops nine points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Here is everything the Celtic captain had to say to Sky Sports in his post-match interview after the draw.

Thoughts on the game?

I thought we did well the first 20-25 minutes. We got an early goal and you could see the atmosphere in the place. We were dominating the game and let them back in the game. with something slack. When you do that against a decent team then you give them a chance in the game. We did not start the second half well and performance levels were not at our best but to come out of here with a point after that, we are delighted with that.

Is it frustrating that the performance levels dropped after you were ahead?

It was just a bit of slackness which crept in. We started the game really well and have been performing really well so we expect when we are comfortable to go on and maximise that but we didn't. Credit to the lads again as we showed character and got ourselves the draw. We weren't at our best but we will take it and we will continue.
