Celtic defender Stephen Welsh "will not" join Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season.
This is according to a report by English outlet The Star, which claims that the 23-year-old will be staying in Glasgow as the Parkhead side are "reluctant to let him leave due to not being flush for central defenders".
He was linked with the English League One club previously.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt are currently the two first-choice centre-backs at the club, with new signing Yuki Kobayashi also providing cover in the position.
Mortiz Jenz recently agreed to cut his loan deal short due to a lack of game-time and Welsh is now part of the backup defenders at the club.

Yosuke Ideguchi could leave Celtic in a deadline-day loan switch.
The Japanese midfielder is reportedly being monitored by clubs in Germany and Japan over a temporary Celtic departure.
Ideguchi, 26, only joined Celtic in January last year but could be headed for the exit this evening.
Ange Postecoglou signed Ideguchi - on a deal to 2026 - alongside moves for Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate.
However, the midfielder has had his game time limited by squad competition along with injury problems.
Ideguchi hasn't featured at all for Celtic this season - only being on the bench for a handful of fixtures.
The Scottish Sun now report that Ideguchi is keen on a loan exit on deadline day.
Former J-League club Gamba Osaka are reportedly keeping tabs on Ideguchi with German club Greuther Furth also monitoring the situation.
