Everything that Callum McGregor to the media after Celtic's 2-1 victory over Rangers in the League Cup final at Hampden Park...

Can you tell us how that game panned out for you?

First-half I thought we were really good, really dominant in the game and probably unlucky to go in (just) one up. But good from us on a showpiece occasion, stuck to our football and really causing them problems. I don't think they won the ball back once in transition so really good from us. In the second-half, we had to show a slightly different side to us. They probably got on top of the game for 15/20 minutes and then we had to find out way back but I think that always happens in finals. We had to find a way through it and I think we did that really well. There are always going to be moments in finals when the other team has a spell and you have to find a way through it. I thought we did that really well. There was a 10/12 minute spell when they looked dangerous but after that, they had the ball but didn't really threaten and we were happy in that mid-block and tried to press from there. Credit to the guys that came on and tuned into the game, the manager always asks that of them as well and we got over the line.

How does that set you up for the treble?

We don't want to speak about that. We want to talk firstly about winning the cup today and we will enjoy tonight and then we will re-focus on St Mirren. We know we have a really big game coming up and we know we have a healthy lead in the league but it only stays that way if you prepare and keep doing the right things, stay humble and keep working in order to try and get better.

You have played in 14 finals and never lost one at Hampden Park. That is some career record, isn't it?

It is good and probably a testament to how you look after yourself and you always need a bit of luck in these finals as well. So it is a nice record but when it comes to the next one I will just want to win that as well".

Can you give us your thoughts on Kyogo (Furuhashi) yet again he has delivered, hasn't he?

He (Kyogo) is a superstar. I can't talk highly enough about him. In our system, the striker has to be really disciplined and be in between the posts and again today, he was in there with two great finishes. He finished off the team moves and it takes a lot of discipline to play in that position. That is two finals in a row he has scored the two goals that have won the cup. So he is a real superstar and we are lucky to have him.

Celtic Way:

Giorgos Giakoumakis goes but Kyogo carries on, doesn't he?

Of course, that's what we want, we want to build a squad and a club that when players come and go, the new guys that come in, they understand there are traditions and values they have to uphold when they cross that white line and wear that jersey. That's the kind of team that we want to be, we want to demand everything from the players every day and when it comes to games like this, you have to show up and win.

What about the Rangers player's comments, that they are a better team and a better club how did those comments go down in the dressing room?

We will let you write that but again for us, we do our talking on the pitch.

Winning the League Cup as captain was special but how does it feel to retain it against Rangers?

It feels brilliant. When we get the chance to win things it's great. Our objective at the start of the season was to win things and try and be as good as we can be and that means competing for every trophy we are in. When you come back here after winning it last season, you want to defend it. You do not want anybody to come and take it off you and to do it against Rangers makes it all the more special.
