Ex-Celtic starlet Liam Morrison has signed a two-year contract extension with Bayern Munich.

The Scotland under-21 international moved to Germany three years ago before the Hoops got him to put pen to paper on a professional deal.

He participated in the Parkhead side's 2019 pre-season training camp but never appeared for the Scottish champions during his time at the club.

The 19-year-old has already been called up to train with the Bundesliga giants' first-team squad and will now be on their books until at least 2025.

Club youth chief Jochen Sauer said: "Liam is a tall central defender, good at headers and tackles, who always gives his all for his team on the pitch.

"He brings a lot with him to assert himself in his position in professional football.

"That's why we are very happy with this contract extension and are very excited about his future path."

Meanwhile, Celtic B defeated Rangers B 3-1 in the Glasgow Cup after a double from striker Joey Dawson.

The young Hoops swept aside their rivals in a closed-doors match at the Rangers Training Centre.

Dawson opened the scoring for the visitors three minutes into the second-half, and not long after, it was 2-0 thanks to Mackenzie Carse.

Just after the hour mark, Dawson added another to his tally after he popped up in the box for a tap-in.

Rangers managed to pull one back late on through Ross McCausland, but it was comfortable for Stephen McManus and Darren O'Dea's side to make it three wins from three in the Glasgow Cup.
