Ange Postecoglou insists cameo appearances for Rocco Vata and Ben Summers are a reward after training with the first team.
The teenage duo climbed off the bench in the latter stages of the 4-1 win over Kilmarnock - with Summers making his debut.
And Postecoglou challenged the pair to keep earning opportunities while first team players are out of action.
"Ben and Rocco have trained with us for quite a while," said Postecoglou. "It’s about earning their opportunities.
"We have people out and Rocco came on and did the job.
"Ben has been good, we’re really happy with his growth and the game time is a reward."

The Celtic boss was also pleased to give Oh Hyeon-gyu a 45-minute runout in the second half at Rugby Park.
South Korea boss Jurgen Klinsmann was in the stands for the match but Postecoglou insisted that was not the reason for Oh's gametime.
"Not because he was here, which is great," said Postecoglou when asked about Oh's second half stint in front of Klinsmann.
"We just want to get him game time because we think he will be good for us.
"It’s a tricky period with no midweek games when there would normally be rotation.
"In every game he’s made an impact. It was difficult as the second half was more a battle, which he’s always up for.
"He got in a great position when he missed his chance.
"He wants to improve all the time. He’s hungry to be a top footballer and he will get more chances."
