Ange Postecoglou admits he was disappointed to see that Celtic will not have at least one home game in their opening split fixtures.
Instead, the Hoops will be travelling to Hearts and Rangers before returning to Parkhead when they welcome St Mirren on May 20.
Postecoglou has admitted that it must be a challenge for SPFL fixture organisers, but he is relishing the task of winning the league title at Tynecastle, with just three points needed to get over the line.
He told Celtic TV: “It's always a bit of a challenge I guess, for those doing it. I would have liked to have had at least one home game in those first two just cause it means that you know our supporters won't see us for three weeks.
“So it would have been nice, but ultimately it is what it is. We've just got to deal with what's before us and, you know, in terms of the league, that's going to Hearts away, who have a new manager in Steven Naismith and they got a great result last week.
“So we know it's always a challenge at Tynecastle away, so it would be a good place to go and win it, because we're going to have to earn it to do it.”
Celtic hero Chris Sutton also commented on the fixture schedule.
He told the Daily Record: “I’m sure they would still enjoy the lap of honour around Ibrox, even with no fans there. It is what it is, and the games had to be put in some particular order. But it does seem like they don’t want Celtic fans celebrating winning a title.
“They’ll do that anyway, whether they are at home or in the pubs in Glasgow. We saw Hearts against Ross County, they looked a changed team under Steven Naismith. Celtic have got five games left and it’s just about getting over the line – and they’ll celebrate anyway. It’s a bit of a shame. St Mirren is the third game after the split so they could celebrate with their own fans then, that would be my focus as a player.
“From a fans’ perspective, there would be an element of disappointment they won’t get the opportunity to play against an Aberdeen or St Mirren at home after the split. But I don’t think it’s any great surprise the way the fixtures have come out.”
