Joe Hart: The Celtic number one had to rush out his goal to boot clear in the opening exchanges and his handling was safe all afternoon. He even saved one from point-blank range early on after the restart which crucially kept the Hoops in front. He also turned a Scott Arfield daisy cutter round the post on the hour mark. 8
Alistair Johnston: A cult hero already in Glasgow's east end and he tested the hands of Allan McGregor with a drive in the first half. He fed a peach of a pass to Jota at one stage which the winger failed to find Kyogo with. He got steamrollered in and never gave Ryan Kent a look-in. The Canadian came off second best in a collision with Borna Barisic, which saw him limp off the field to be replaced by Anthony Ralston after 53 minutes. 6
Cameron Carter-Vickers: He has been a colossus for Celtic at the back of the pack for the best part of two seasons and he deflected an early Nicolas Raskin drive wide. Between him and his defensive partner they shackled Alfredo Morelos and rendered him totally ineffective in the first 45 minutes. He copped a sore one from Morelos which saw him receive some treatment after a superb defensive clearance. 8
Carl Starfelt: He produced another decent Hampden performance to add to his collection as he was rarely troubled by the Colombian. He stood firm against everything that Rangers could throw at him in the second half. He is an accomplished centre-back when he focuses on the job at hand. 8
Greg Taylor: His usual solid, reliable and dependable self certainly defensively but his attacking bursts were curtailed by the Rangers engine room. He never shirked a challenge and always showed for the ball, even when he was under pressure. 7

Callum McGregor: "We want to not only win these games, but we want to win them well and in terms of performance of course you strive for perfection. You know the ultimate aim is to win the game." The words of the Hoops skipper beforehand and he gave everything for the cause and played a captain's part in hauling the Hoops over the line. 8
Reo Hatate: Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou gave the emphatic answer to the $64,000 dollar question as the Japanese midfielder was passed fit to play. However, he looked well off the pace and it was no surprise when he made way for his compatriot Iwata after 66 minutes. 5
Matt O'Riley: He was back to something resembling his old self after what many would term a temporary dip in form. The Dane was cleaned out by Borna Barisic after some neat trickery on the right flank which earned the culprit a booking. It was his press that forced the Rangers players to stop after Nicolas Raskin thought he'd conceded a foul. He was doing well and was surprisingly given the hook after 66 minutes for Mooy. 7
Jota: There were clearly no lingering doubts over the fitness of the superstar from Portugal as he took his place on the wing to hand Celtic a massive pre-match boost. Flitted in and out of proceedings but crucially let the ball slip under his foot when he would have been in for a shot at goal. His moment duly arrived on 42 minutes when he stole in at the back post and headed home Daizen Maeda's excellent cross from the left to put his side 1-0 up. 7

Kyogo Furuhashi: Feed the striker and he will score. The Japanese attacker was looking for his 30th goal of an incredible campaign as well as his sixth against Rangers in his last four derby outings. He was the victim of a crude John Lundstram tackle early on which went unpunished. His running still caused problems despite the fact that he was being well policed by Connor Goldson and company but escaped their clutches on 57 minutes to curl in an effort which McGregor palmed away. He cracked in another long-range effort that whistled past the upright. 6
Daizen Maeda: The Japanese winger was presented with a chance inside the opening six minutes, but his touch let him down and the opportunity was lost. He took nasty one from James Tavernier on the achilles after 15 minutes but was fine to continue. He dug out a wonderful cross for Jota's goal but that was a rare moment of quality from him down the flank. 7
Substitutes:
Anthony Ralston (Johnston 53): The Scotland international made a return to the first-team fold when he came on for the injured Johnston after eight minutes of the second half. He got wired in as you would expect 5
Aaron Mooy (O'Riley 66): The Aussie came on for the effective O'Riley as Celtic tried to regain some control in the midfield area. 4
Tomoki Iwata (Hatate 66): Given a quarter of the game to stamp his authority on it as he replaced his out-of-sorts compatriot.
Sead Haksabanovic (Jota 66): The Montenegrin replaced the matchwinner for the last 25 minutes and spurned a good opportunity to play in either Kyogo or Maeda when he was bursting through at speed. 4
Oh Hyeon-gyu (Kyogo 82): Handed an eight-minute cameo for the quiet Kyogo.
Substitutes not used: Scott Bain, David Turnbull, Yuki Kobayashi, Rocco Vata.
