Celtic fans have taken a dig at arch-city rivals Rangers by proclaiming themselves "Scotland's most successful club".

The Hoops lifted their eighth treble this evening with a 3-1 victory over Inverness in the Scottish Cup final.

It also secured Ange Postecoglou's fifth trophy out of the six available to him during his two years spent in Glasgow.

It was a comfortable afternoon for Celtic, as expected. Kyogo scored the opener around five minutes before half time, before second-half goals from Liel Abada and Jota sealed the deal.

Daniel MacKay did net one for Caley Thistle to apply some pressure towards the end of the game, but it was undoubtedly Celtic's day at the national stadium.

The victory means that Celtic have now won 115 major honours in their history.

As the full-time whistle sounded, the camera panned straight to the fans, where a banner held up by the Green Brigade read: "115 trophies, Scotland's most successful club."

Rangers are on 117 trophies overall, so while Celtic haven't quite toppled the Ibrox club from that crown, they're certainly closing in at a rapid rate.

The Light Blues clinched their 115th honour in 2011 in Walter Smith's last season as manager.

Postecoglou's future is now up in the air, with Tottenham expected to make a move for the Australian in the coming days.

He remained coy when addressing his future at the end of the game, insisting he will instead enjoy celebrating at the moment and looking forward to his family holiday on Tuesday.
