Celtic starlet Tobi Oluwayemi's loan spell at Cork City has ended after an injury-stricken six months.

This is according to a report from the Irish Mirror which states the youngster has returned to Parkhead.

The 20-year-old joined the Irish Premier Division side in January on a deal that lasted until the end of June but he has struggled to make an impact.

He made just two appearances during his time away from the Hoops, including making a major error on his debut against Bohemians in which he fumbled the ball into the net.

In the following fixture, a 2-0 defeat to Derry City, the goalkeeper suffered a groin injury which has kept him out for the rest of the campaign.

Capped for England at every international age group up until U20s, Oluyayemi joined the Scottish champions in 2019 and became an integral part of the B team set up at the club before his loan spell.

Meanwhile, talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has blasted back at the Green Brigade following their tweet directed at new Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers yesterday.

Rodgers has returned to the club following four years down south with Leicester in the Premier League.

However, the former Crystal Palace owner was scathing in his criticism of the fan group, following the reposting of the infamous banner on their social media account.

The banner was unveiled just 24 hours after Rodgers had left the club to join Leicester City, saying: "You traded immortality for mediocrity. Never a Celt, always a fraud.”

The co-host of the White & Jordan show said: "He’ll have priced that into his thinking and they’ll have thought of that brand of resistance.

"If he starts losing games he’ll have a problem, but is there anything feeling Celtic aren’t going to be as strong?

"They are the fans that pack the stadium out every week and expect everyone to stay there until their last breath.

"Brendan Rodgers had the temerity to say ‘I’m off. I've been offered an opportunity and I’m going to take it.’

"They’ll say the timing was all about Brendan Rodgers but with all due respect, grow up. Every decision everyone makes is about themselves.

"He’s not going to do a Man City. What he can do is put up a better fist of getting two points and trying to make it out of the group stage.

"What he can do is if they drop into the Europa League, is punch their weight in that competition after the model was set by Rangers."
