Brendan Rodgers's sensational return to Celtic has rocked the whole of Scottish football to its foundations.

The Northern Irishman announced on Monday that he was back at the managerial helm for a second stint after leading the club to seven out of seven domestic trophies from 2016- 2019.

The 50-year-old has been promised a significant budget in terms of turning Celtic into a force once again on the European stage.

Reports suggest that Rodgers could be handed up to £35 million to transform the world record treble holders.

With a huge transfer kitty to splurge in the transfer market, Rodgers has already been linked to former Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, Foxes striker Jamie Vardy and defensive midfielder Daniel Amartey.

Rodgers worked closely with all three men at the King Power Stadium before he left in April.

What positions are a priority for Rodgers's new-look Celtic in the up-and-coming season to make the back-to-back title winners competitive in the Champions League arena?

Should Celtic be looking to add a new goalkeeper, a centre-back, a central midfielder and another striker to their ranks?

It remains to be seen who will come and go at Celtic but it promises to be an exciting summer of activity in Glasgow's east end with incomings and exits.

Meanwhile, former Rangers boss Graeme Souness has voiced his concerns about the men in green and white's spending power and he is worried that the Ibrox men are about to be blown out of the water financially once again by their city rivals.

He said: "Obviously, my focus is on the other side of Glasgow. I think Brendan going back, is a worry for me as a Rangers man, my worry would be that he’s asked for assurances in terms of budgets.

"What he’s going to spend, how much he can spend because I’m sure Brendan feels that would have got other job offers back in England, maybe not in the Premier League but certainly the top end of the championship.

"So it worries me slightly that he’s gone back there for that fact that promises will have been made to him which is about budgets how much you can spend and that ain’t good news for Rangers."
