Celtic will have Daizen Maeda in their squad for Sunday’s Premiership clash against Hearts after he missed Japan’s October friendlies while centre-back Maik Nawrocki could return after two months out with a hamstring injury.
Manager Brendan Rodgers said: “Daizen is okay. He had a slight knock after the Kilmarnock game and, with it being friendlies, the communication between their medical team and ours meant he didn’t have to travel.
“He had some treatment for a few days but he has been training now over a week so he is absolutely fine.
“Maik is 10 days or so into his training and getting sharper every day and finding his football fitness. We will have a look at him, we are still to finalise the squad but the most important thing is he is back training and available.”
Defender Stephen Welsh (ankle) and winger Liel Abada (thigh) are Celtic’s only absentees heading into a busy period which will see them play seven times in 21 days.
Rodgers said: “Stephen is probably two weeks away from training with the team, he is out on the field working with the rehabilitation team and doing very, very well.
“Liel Abada is still a little bit of time away, December he was earmarked to come back so he is still on course for that.”
