Everything Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers had to say in his post-match interview with BBC Radio Scotland after his side's 1-1 draw with Motherwell...
Thoughts on the game?
We are disappointed because we had enough opportunities to win the game. Motherwell defended well but We had over 80 per cent of the possession so we had enough of the ball but did not create as much as we would have liked but still the opportunities, we had were good ones. We need to see big moments through.
You have missed a few penalties this season, is that annoying for you?
Yeah, [penalties] are decisive moments in the game and are something we have worked on so we need to start bringing that into matches. "We are disappointed to miss the first one but David scores the second one well and we were on top after that and controlled the rhythm of the game in their half which is good because when you score you expect the team to come onto you. However, we gave away the corner and sadly we could not defend it.
Motherwell's goal was their only attack of the second half. How frustrating is that?
We defended when we had to in the game and counter-pressed well because they have decent speed at the top end of the pitch and we defended that well. When the ball drops in the six-yard box we have to deal with it better.
You have only dropped six points in the league but four of those have come at Parkhead where you would expect to win. Is that frustrating as well?
Yeah, these are games should win, that we are expected to win but we have to earn that through quality and that little extra bit of finesse in the final third of the pitch and we did not have that today. We got into some really good areas but did not have that final pass or touch to help us score. Maybe that little bit of freshness after the international break was not there but that is no excuse as we had enough of the ball and arrived in the areas we wanted to but we have to show more.
How do you bridge the gap against Lazio?
It is very easy; you just move on to the next game. We have competed well in the Champions League this season. The second half against Atletico Madrid was the only real disappointment. We were down to 10-men against a top team and sadly we lost heavily there but the players have competed well at level. We now have to recover from today's disappointment and be motivated going into our next game.
Does the extent of the challenge away to Lazio help motivate you?
Yeah, I do not think there is any doubt that if we want to progress then it is a game we have to win.
Will that require extra quality?
I think if you look at the games, we have played in the Champions League then we can see that. The Atletico game and the Lazio game here at home. It is a different level but there will be more space for us to play in.
