Feyenoord star Ramiz Zerrouki has claimed that even Celtic defender Liam Scales admitted they shouldn't have got a penalty during their Champions League triumph.
The Hoops finally got a win in the group stages of the competition - their first home victory in ten years - when they defeated the Rotterdam side 2-1.
They went ahead through a first half penalty from Luis Palma after defender Scales was wrestled by Zerrouki in the area, before fellow stopper Gustaf Lagerbielke grabbed a late winner after the Dutch side had equalised.
But Algerian international midfielder Zerrouki was surprised at the ref's decision to penalise him for his tussle with Scales.
He said: "We have some contact with each other, but in my opinion much too light for a penalty.
"Initially the referee warned us, then the corner is taken and he pushed me first and I have some contact with him.
"Even that Celtic player said to me that he didn't think it was a penalty, so I think it says it all.
"You always have learning moments, but in the end, I thought we should have won this match. We just weren't good enough in finishing.
"We were the better team and created the biggest chances, but we didn't finish them."
And colleague Mats Wieffer couldn't believe they had lost the match.
He said: "Everyone is very frustrated. Celtic were better in the first 20 minutes and then we had it pretty much under control. We created a lot of chances, especially in the second half.
"I don't know how many goals we have conceded like the one Celtic scored late on in the Champions League, but that's not possible. It's actually scandalous.
"These are the moments you train to prevent when everyone has a man. This should not happen.
"It's all very well saying we played nice football and should have won, but if that happens time and time again, you will never win anything.
"We can only blame ourselves."
