Celtic and Rangers have both been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Liverpool defender Owen Beck after he featured for Jurgen Klopp's side today.
The Welshman spent the first half of this season on loan at Dundee in the Scottish Premiership and he impressed, capturing the attention of Glasgow's big two ahead of the January transfer window.
Liverpool recalled Beck this month and reports suggested that both Celtic and Rangers were eyeing a possible swoop of the youngster this month.
But Beck will not be heading back to Scotland this season after he came on as a substitute for Klopp's team during their Premier League clash with Bournemouth today.
The 21-year-old replaced Conor Bradley on 83 minutes at the Vitality Stadium and FIFA rulings now mean that he cannot feature for another team this season other than Liverpool and Dundee.
