James Forrest is destined to see out his career at Celtic.
That's the view of former Hoops striker Frank McAvennie.
The one-time Scotland international is a one-man club. He's spent his entire career at Parkhead having made his first team breakthrough in 2010. He has racked up 22 trophies in his 14 years as a professional.
Forrest, 32, has struggled for game time over the past couple of seasons under Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers.
He's not featured since prior to Christmas and was linked with a shock deadline day move to Championship side Cardiff City.
That never materialised with the attacker contracted at Celtic Park until the summer of 2025.
And while his lack of game time would suggest a parting of ways could be on the cards this summer, Macca doubts it.
He told Football Insider: “I don’t think Forrest would want to leave Celtic. He’s been at Celtic for a long time and he’s been on decent money for a long time – I think he’s settled. He’s financially secure and it’s his testimonial year so I can’t see him going.
"He can still do a job for Celtic coming on from the bench and he’s the kind of player you want at your disposal, which is huge for Brendan. You have to offload players but I think you know what you get with James. I think he will finish his career at Celtic.
"If he was to leave, it would be with everyone’s blessing. I’ve not always agreed with the way he plays football, but he’s been an excellent servant to the club."
