Willie Collum has been praised for sticking to his guns after a VAR check during Motherwell against Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers' side won 3-1 at Fir Park as the champions staged a late comeback win in Lanarkshire thanks to goals from Adam Idah and Luis Palma.
However, with the score still at 1-1, there was an incident with about ten minutes remaining that caught the eye.
Republic of Ireland striker Idah was hauled down just outside the Motherwell penalty area by defender Calum Butcher as he looked to get a shot away.
Collum brandished a yellow to the substitute, with his view that either Paul McGinn or Bevis Mugabi would cover their teammate.
However, VAR checked the incident and advised the referee to conduct an on-field review at the pitchside monitor for a potential red card.
So, Collum watched replays of the incident back himself, but instead of bailing on his original decision, he stuck by it - something has proven to be rare in football with VAR in operation.
And former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher was pleased to see Collum back his own eyes.
He told Sky Sports ref watch: "He has gone to the screen, VAR looks at quickly, thinks it's a red card, or recommends he has a look for a potential red card. Willie Collum says no, backs himself. We don't often see it but give him his due and sticks to his guns."
